Dan Oh Festival

“Dan Oh Festival” is held on June 24 (Saturday), 2023 at the KACCM facility (24666 Northwestern Hwy, Southfield, Michigan 48075). This year, our ceremony started at 4:30 pm. Delicious Korean dinner served after the ceremony. We were pleased to collaborate with other Korean organizations to celebrate together our heritage and share our culture to the main stream.

Dan Oh is a Korean holiday that falls on the 5th day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. In the Mahan ancient Korea, this was a day of spiritual rites, and enjoyment with song, dance, and wine. Traditionally, women washed their hair in water boiled with changpo, and people wore blue and red clothes and dyed hairpins red with the iris roots.
